April 24: Lightroom Color Profiles

Lightroom Profiles have moved up – from the bottom of the adjustment panel in the Develop module – to the top! In LR 7.3, you now have some 40 new choices, and they are much improved over the previous system! Now all versions of Lightroom (Classic, CC, iOS, Android) now have color profiles, which you can use to simulate your favorite film, get that Instagram look, or otherwise customize your color look.

This is a huge step forward for Adobe, joining the modern processing strategies that their competitors (especially the phone apps!) have been offering to photographers! Now you too can take advantage of these new “looks”, and separate your technical adjustments from your artistic interpretations! Even better, you can build your own profiles (or purchase inexpensive ones made by third parties) to widen your range of choices. Together with the new easy preview features, this opens up your LR workflow to making more creative renderings, and more personal images!

Lightroom mobile also gets the full perspective adjustments that were previously only in the desktop versions.

Also, a little slideshow of Japan’s cherry blossom frenzy, from Daniel who has been in Kyoto for the past few weeks.

Join us on Tuesday April 24, and listen to George explain how these new profiles work – bring your questions, and be sure to take notes!!!

This meeting will be held at our usual location, Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. Doors open at 6pm and we’ll get rolling at 7pm.

Admission is free but we’d appreciate a donation to pay for snacks and help keep LADIG afloat. Please register on the form below:
