Happening at the Universal City Hilton on Thursday, Feb 18th, the Createasphere expo (formerly HD expo) will be of interest to photographers looking to shoot video, with a number of seminars directly related to Canon DSLR video workflow and compression for the web. Aquarium of the Pacific will host its second Photographers Night on Sunday, January 31. The event will run from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. A photo workshop will be held at 5 PM for those who are interested, though space is limited so booking early is recommended. Photographers will have the opportunity to use tripods, which are not normally permitted, and to take time to set up their shots surrounded only by fellow photographers. Wearing dark clothing is recommended, in order to minimize visible reflections.

On Wednesday, May 27th, the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (aka LAFCPUG) will feature Patrick Woodward from Digital Film Tree taking about video workflow with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera.
